On Education of Children

“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” -Deut. 6:6-7

We believe God created children, and gave them to parents as a gift to raise for His glory. Thus, our mission is to train students in spiritual, academic, and physical development. We believe that a Christian education is one means of fulfilling the mandate of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). We believe that the biblical pattern for educating children is that parents are the primary educators and disciplers of their children (Prov. 1:8-9; Eph. 6:1-4). Therefore, it is the aim and function of JHCA to come alongside parents in this blessed work. We are a grace-focused school, believing and teaching that good works cannot save a person (Rom. 3:28-31; Eph. 2:8-9; Tit. 3:4-5).

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” -Romans 12:2
